How to use the CHAT Feature

SEN has a great chat system. It is very easy to use and has the best features you are going to find anywhere!

To try chatting with other members, use the Launcher screen and click the CHAT VENUES button.

The Chat Rooms are called Chat Venues because they are themed to create atmosphere. Once you enter a Venue room, you'll be at the main chat screen.

To say something in the chat venue room, type something into the box at the bottom of the screen and then click the SAY IT button.

When someone else in the room speaks, you'll see that person's picture next to what he or she said. You'll also see that person's name underlined. You can click on the underlined name to view the person's detailed profile information in a pop-up window.

You can also click on the thumbnail sized picture of the person typing to view their full sized picture.

On the right hand pane of the chat screen is a pane that lists who is in the room with you. This pane says People on top. You can right click on any name in this list for options like adding that person to your contacts list, sending them a private message, and more.

If you missed something someone said, you can scroll up the window to read older messages. This is called scrollback mode. To activate scrollback mode, use the vertical slider on the right hand pane of the chat text, between the chat window and the People chatting with you pane. When you pull up on the slider, scrollback mode will automatically activate. Alternatively, you can push the Use Scrollback button on the right side under the People chatting with you pane.

When you activae scrollback mode, the chat window splits into two parts. The top part lets you see old messages. Use the vertical slider on the right to scroll up and down. The bottom pane lets you see what people are typing while you are using scrollback mode, so you don't miss anything! When you are finished using scroll back you can click either the

button on top of the scroll bar, or you can click on the

button.

There are many Chat Venue rooms to chose from. Each one is different and attracts a different crowd of people to meet. If you would like to change to another room, click on the

button. This will bring up the room selection window.

This screen lists the available venue rooms and how many people are in each room. Click on a room to select it and then click the OK button; or if you would like to stay in your current room, you can click the CANCEL button.

If you would like to join a second room without leaving your original room, you can! The chat system lets you be in several rooms at once!

The icon of the door on the left will open up a second chat room window. The icon on the right with the person leaving a room will allow you to change rooms without opening a new window. This is the same as the button.

There are otherthings you can do in chat, like action commands. You can type /help in the chat box for more information on other fun chat activities that you can discover!
